so where did i drop you off...? ah trekking!
ive been traveling alone again, but out here its hard to actually be alone! you always have some traveler or local to chat with, and probably spend a good amount of time discovering different cultures!
there are a lot of Israeli travelers, a lot of English as well, but ive met people from all over the world!
i spent some time in a Tibetan refugee camp, i asked them if i needed to pay if i wanted to stay a couple of days and help out. the monk said if i wanted to leave a donation i could but no money was required.. its really silent up there and its quite lonesome. their English is a bit limited, so its hard to communicate sometimes..
i was meant to go to Ghorka yesterday, i booked my bus ticket, and was ready to go to bed, when i go by the hot sandwich place, and spot Joel, from England, which i met through Robb. i stopped to chat , and he said he had a really nice day, because him and some people had rented motorbikes! (out here you don't need a license and they dont ask for any documentation) and he said that they were going to do it again the next day, and that i should join them! (after i went to chitwan on a bike this made me very tempted!!) so, on the spare of the moment, i canceled my bus ticket, and the next day, rented a scooter, along with Joel, Ash, from Georgia, Michelle, and Adam from England, and Charley from England and japan! we all had breakfast and spent the day just riding around mountains and lakes!. we stopped at this beautiful place, picked up little row boats, and went for a swim in this amazing lake! my bike was crap and it was falling apart half the time! :P we entered a bumpy road, which is basically stones, we soon realized it would ruin the bikes, so we turned around, and of course i got a flat tire, which later i discovered was caused by a huge nail! ash and Charley went to look for a mechanic, while the rest of us just sat in the shade! :)
a couple of minutes sitting on the grass and some girls were peaking at us, and giggling and waving at Joel. i asked if they wanted a picture, to which they were so excited, they called me over to their side, and invited me into their home..! they were so smiley and happy*
the guys came back with a mechanic, and as he was sorting things out, a surreal ice cream truck showed up out of the durt road, in the middle of nowhere! so, we, obviously stopped them, and got a tub of vanilla and a tub of chocolate ice cream!! oh cold and yummy
while my bike was being fixed i was left with a load of locals, and my camera! what to do? they looove pictures! im sorry ma!! haha i just LOVED riding a scooter!! it felt so free and it was so much fun riding within cows!!
today we were supposed to go to Kathmandu but we missed the bus, so we go tomorrow on a 6 hour bus ride! ahhhhhh
a big hug to all! hope all my letters and postcards are getting there.. i know it might take a while..! lots of love, and many smiles to all! jessirela*

hope everything is bright and shiney at your end of the world!

humanity is the only religion and love the only priest.. -kimche,

hey guys! im so happy when i read your comments! you make me smile..
oh..! where do i start? ive just had the most amazing days! i went trekking on the poon hill circuit up in the annapurna mountain.
as the day starts, i know im going to have to walk about 7 hours up hill..so that's a booster!
it began in a small village with my backpack and a full bottle of water, oh and my camera!
its quite funny trying to talk to the local villagers.. the intent is there, but you end up just exchanging a mix of signs and facial expressions!

its such an amazing culture, im always so mesmerized. i was about to leave the village when i see a little girl.. i felt like i should stop and so i did with a namaste.. she tugged at her ears, and her grandma called me.. i took a look and she had a gnarly infection behind her ears.. i took out my little kit, cleaned her hands, her face, her ears, and put some arnica where i could.. i ended up putting a plaster as well. but there is really so much could do.. i fell like, i was lucky i stopped.. they have no real communication with people that can help, there is a great language barrier, and they have no medical care up there.. which they are in dire need of. every year people loose their homes, crops and family members to the monsoons, due to the unstable ground and big landslides. people are greatly injured and they will go on months without medical care. because it is an area with hard access, to keep their vegetables, they pick them in mass, and them smash the juices out, and dry up the bunch.

about to cross the river, there was a group of people sitting, it was a cremation ceremony.. the body was ready, they just needed to collect the last bits of wood. women where aloud to assist, but in many villages, women are considered having weak hearts because they cry, and for this reason they are banned from the ceremony.
as the journey went on, we went by, a school, saw wild orchids, saw beautiful fountains, saw loads of goats, carrier donkeys, loads of wild marijuana plants and a wedding ceremony! they have a 24 hour long party and the next day the wedding takes place.
after 3000 steps and torturous climbing, we get to the days end..Uleri a nice little guest house on the hills side. the room, was a little cardboard box! haha unstable floor, amazing view! the next day, another 6 hours to go, ended up meeting Bret and Michael. which were realy cool, even though their from california :) Bret is a motivational speaker (im not sure what you call it) and Michael is 22 and lived in china for 6 months, ending up learning how to speak and write fluent Chinese! its an amazing accomplishment! it was so nice meeting them, time went by really well with all the conversations and laughing sessions. we got to the end of the 2nd day! yey were alive!
we had dinner, and then the most surreal evening! picture this: a handful of crazy trekkers, up on a small hut in the middle of the mountains, with a bunch of nepali people and suddenly, hotel California comes up, and macarena after that, and Michael Jackson, and Madonna, and Jennifer Lopez and everyone just gets up and starts dancing! including peter, 55, Robbin, 60 and mike 64! they have been trekking for 2 weeks and are still going at it! so that was a hilarious night, that ended with me, up and cozy in a nice warm bed in a hut bellow beautiful mountains!
the next day, once again, everyone goes at their own pace. i talk and take pictures, some just walk, some get tired and need brakes.. i climbed this silent hill at maybe 7 in the morning, and arrived a the top and its covered in mist. it was a beautiful and peaceful place. with Tibetan praying flags. i ended up meeting a dozen more people, danish girls, dutch guy, Pascal, Australian girl, Russian girl who was about to get married, Israeli guy, and french girls( Camille and Margot, i remember!! )
the view up in tadapani is breathtaking, and although its quite literally freezing up there, you kind of never want to leave! my hands started pealing and wrinkling the day i started trekking.. like id been in water for hours..
i was a bit disappointed on the last day.. i encountered a lot of kids, and they all asked me for chocolates and sweets, which i didn't have..
so i went by one kid, he must have been about 2 or 3 years old.. and the same happened here, sweets? chocolate? i turned to him.. hoina, mafganus, (i dont have.. sorry) and wanted to move on, and as im about to turn, he picks up a stone! i looked at him.. "are you kidding? really? your agoing to through me at stone? let me get his straight.. i have no sweets so you want to through me a stone? i cant give you anything so get on with your life.." he kept threatening me! i felt ridiculous having a conversation like this, with a 2 year old Nepali in the middle of the mountains.. but yes, as i turned my back to him.. he through the stone..
i guess i cant really blame him. but i was saddened by this.
the last day was painful.. its not the going up bit that hurts, its when you start going down.. my muscles are a big pile of mush! im in pain, because the whole 7hours your legs are supporting your body in order to stop you from falling!

i was reading a magazine this morning and read a couple articles on really impressive people , i wrote some of their names down in my journal, so i want to share them with you guys!
Paul kagame- ended the slaughter caused by the genocide and ended the mass corruption in Rwanda.he was elected Rwandas president in 2000.

somaly man- born around the same time as the Khmer rouge regime was born. at the age of 12 she was sold to sexual slavery, and ended up in a brothel for 10 years, before she managed to escape with the help of an aid worker. she fled Cambodia in 1993. in 1996 she created the AFESIP ( agir pour le femmes en situation precaire) shes helped 4000 women escape brothels and reintegrate them in the society.

Jon Favreau, is 27 and is the person that helps Obamas write his long speeches. his his private speech witter. those speeches that chill so many peoples souls, that move and shake countrys around the world, are written with Obamas input, but the magical words are formed by this one guy behinds scenes.

Barbara Hogan, is 57, she actively resisted apartheid and organized boycotts. for this she spent 8 years of brutal incarceration in Pretoria central prison. she was then released and appointed minister of health.

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, is African 1st female president, being such a great inspiration to so many people. like Wangary Maathai, the book im reading is on her, and she was the 1st black woman to win the Nobel prize. shes also an environmentalist and women rights defender.

morning time! wow, croissant and milk tea!

'hello Poppe't! thats one of the little huts! it was freezing!

this is the cremation ceremony.. its not very clear, but maybe you can click on it..

the beautiful fish tail mountain.. its is considered the holly mountain, actually i was told its the holiest mountain on earth.. no one is aloud to climb it.. isnt it beautiful
the little girls ears..
trekkers leave little surprises on the way:) and nature is interested. there are loads of lady birds here!
oh the great trekkers, Robbert,60, Mike, 64 and peter, 55! they were hilarious!
the cobra plant! its a beautiful orchid that was all around the mountains!
the misty hill.. it was so stunning, i didnt have any words. thats Bret, 2 locals and Michael.
i love this picture! its so clear, and she was so still and helpful! :)
Bainey (little sister)and Day(older brother) i gave them some cookies, oh the bliss!
Anapurna... the energy there was amazing! check out the little Alladin curley cloud on the left bottom corner!
venga boys perhaps? :) a guide on my right, and micahel behind me with his dopeness hat, but there were so many more dancers!
veggie dry up preparation!

little girl took that finger right out of her mouth and shoved it on my lens! smudged the camera and giggled of!!
i cant begin to tell you how amazing that horse in the middle of the field was! i was alone, so i took out my remote and took my first self portrait! take a look at the rainbow! :)
women here, as i have said many times before, have such a spirit and are such hard workers.. their hands are the mirror of how much they work..

little hut at night.. cozy double blanket bed.
shes like a little bug isnt she? wide eyes, and big smiles after that.

im ever so proud of this picture, because he wanst actually smiling at all, and when i was finished, i kept my camera up, and hoped that as he moved forward he would give me something, and he did give me a little eye smile.

remember her so well, and that orange door and wall.. she was sad looking

oh!! baby goats, just jumping up and down! our theory is that they are all doped up from all the weed they eat!

the rain season started, soon the monsoons arrive! it just stopped raining! that's my cue*
big hugs to all, jessirela didi bainey

robb with his brithish humor makes fun of me most the time and mini just laughs at me!
! "only in nepal" thats what i keep saying! :)

oh lady in pink right in the beautiful pokhara lake!

as i left the school where Jan volunteers, i saw these beautiful fields!

the freak playing harmonica as they would politely say :)

Pokhara lake after sunset is just a breathtaking site, that i dont think you can take in with justa a picture..

Jan and mini, drinking an everest beer! interesting table conversations that day! haha

powerfully strong woamn, like all of them around here! ( i love the colours. her underdress in the colour of the door and her skirt is the colour od the woods. )

arentbthey gorgous? i took face ones as well but i dont have enough time or space to put every nice picture on here

this is that freaky animal! isnt it cool! like a queen!
where i camped! yey

all the kids at the dallbaht place! the ones that finished my chalk! :) they teached me a qick song game, but i can only remember it finishes with namaste!

beautiful young girl, she was so shy and pretty! its a shame, because she lost her ticka, right before this shot ( ticka are those coloured dots they put on the forehead)

the silk plant they call it..

hello there! the yellow little bulge covering the side of her face is her bays (brother) tummy

the trucks and buses here have funny horns, like they are musical ones! they dont go, beep beep, they go beeberi bumbum brarabaraba! its hillarious. but it means that you cant sleep on the buses because they beep for any reason and no reason at all!

Namascar everyone!
Im back! :)
the night before i left thamel, we had just finished dinner, and as we walked by a lady on the side of the road with 3children around her sleeping, i kneelt down, and asked her if she was ok.. mini had some leaft over pizza,(which i always make everyone pack, so we can give on the road, to the people) and she handed it to her, plus a bottle of water. i gave her my left over cake and she just burst out crying.. i gave her 100 ruppes.. wich is good sum of money around here, but in truth its just the equivalent of the misarable amount of about 1 euro..
i was heart broken that night. and felt terrible on the way to my warm bed..

the next day, i left. and after 4 hours of a hot bus ride, i rafted for 2 days around the chitwan areas which was breathtaking! i just kept thinking how lucky i am to be in Nepal in between hills and mountains, having adrenaline rushes , or just being in calm steady waters. everything here is so beautiful! i know i keep saying it, but its so true!
in between the two days of rafting, we stopped at this beach, and just a few minutes walk from there, was a small road side dallbaht stand. while i was waiting for the food, there were two lovely kids, so i took out my coloured chalk box, and called them to the side to make drawings on the pavement. within 2 minutes, every kid around was surrounding me, they were copying my drawings, and making hearts and all sorts of things, and giggling all the way through.
just so that you can have an idea of how many they were, i have no chalk leaft!
camped on the beach that night (theres a picture of the peaceful place) and made a nice fire. on the other side of the river there were lots of little flash lights, which i figured were people camping or going to fish, but one of the locals said that someone of a nearby village had died, and they were piking wood to do a cremation ceremony. hum
that night and i waited for the fire.. but nothing happened.
as i feel asleep, it felt like someone put the lights on.. it was the giant bright full moon! there was no pollutyion covering it, so i watched it all night. the next day, i saw this really nice white piece of fluff, like a blow a wish plant, so i was going to pick it up, and realised its an animal! theres a cool picture of it as well! i asked one of the locals, who happened to be the best cook ever, and he said that they turn into butterflies later.
after rafting i talked to this local man, must have been at least 60, i dont know his name but he had really good english. turns out he was in the british army for many years. A Gurkha. he had such a warm smile.
as the local bus arrives in pokhara, we approach the movement, and we spot a big mass of people. we got closer and closer, and right as we go by, we realize its a cremation. there is a dead body burning. not on the side of the road, but in the middle of the road. they had rapped him in bandages and just had him there for everyone to watch.. it was a real shock. later as i talked to robb, one of the volunteers, he explained that must have been the body of a local boy, that went to the lake with two other volunteers, and after diving never came back up, till they found the body the day i arrived in pokhara. this is all a bit morbid, but i thinks its an important thing to share with you.
We found Jan, a German science geek( its true :) but its ok, i love flowers and butterfly, so im glad that i can talk to someone that loves them as well and not feel like im boring someone out of their brains, by saying 50 times, "oh look at that! thats amazing! did you see that? "
the next day i went with jan up to where he does his volunteer work at a local school.
oh its amazing how different the systems are all over the world. i watched one of his classes, and its astonishing how all the kids seem to know everything, but they are just repeating text book stuff, so if you actually ask them what something is, they will know the definitions, but wont know what it truly is. something like they will know that a flower has petals, but they wont know what petals are. that kind of a thing. but hes really good, because he asks them, and makes them interact in the movement of the class, and make it dynamic, which is hard here.
i had a peanut butter toast today! yummy
and right now its raining!! WOHOO
tomorrow im going to anapurna, so ill write in a few days, maybe a week, so talk to you then

hugs to all *
